Conservation and Species Protection

As the world's foremost sportfishing company, we simplify our approach in several key ways:

  1. Responsible Hooking: We exclusively use circle hooks and avoid double hooks. This commitment ensures that we can safely release these incredible creatures back into their natural habitat.

  2. Protecting Protected Species: We do not bring any protected species on board, aligning with both legal requirements and our deep respect for the long-lasting impact we can have on these remarkable creatures.

  3. Compliance and Conservation: Our dedication goes beyond the law. We rigorously adhere to all applicable regulations and follow recommendations from esteemed organizations like the Billfish Foundation and the International Game Fish Association.

  4. Securing the Future: Our ultimate goal is to safeguard these species for generations to come. We want to ensure that they continue to be a part of countless fish tales, extending far beyond just your own.

Fishing in Costa Rica is world-famous because it offers a great variety of pelagics, bottom-feeders, and billfish all available in very good numbers throughout the year.

One of the reasons the waters are so abundant is because of the amazing conservation and protection efforts that are proudly and strictly enforced by most legitimate charter operations, and especially by Fish Tale 2.

What Charter is right for me and my group?

If you want to fish for 4 or 6 hours, you can stay inshore and target Roosterfish, Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi.

Alternatively, if you are lucky enough to have a whole day to spend on the water, chasing those fishtails, you can target Blue, Black, or Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo, Amber Jack, Jack Crevalle, Needle Fish, triple tail and Mahi Mahi.

No matter what the right fit for you, you can fill your freezer, and your Fish Tales 2!
